I kept telling myself all day yesterday not to say it out loud. You might jinx it. But, here we are today, safe and sound, in Vattaro, Italy nestled near the Dolomiti; and it was the easiest trip ever. Every flight was on time. Backpacks arrived safely. I didn’t lose anything important, like, um…passports (yes, that has happened twice in transit.) Even the big ass bike box wasn’t as much hassle as we imagined to get through airports and train stations.
We are in our new home for the next two months and it’s everything we hoped and then some. Before arriving, we didn’t have a clue what our budget-friendly, rented apartment would be like. As with most things Italian, it’s over-the-top good.
Day 1 – Nesting…
My new office in Vattaro
View from our balcony
Our very large, two story apartment
The view, the view!
Hotel Alpenrose, where our apartment is located.
Oh, the irony..largest closet I’ve ever had and only a backpack of clothes to put in it.
Ok, people, we have a guest room! Get yourself to Italy to see us while you can.
We also have a garage for all that bike shit. (said with love.)
Ready for it…yes, that is a horse you see, visible from our jacuzzi tub!! Don’t be hatin’.
So long Whole Foods. Ciao, Famiglia Cooperativa.
Sweet goodness, I love it here.
Happiness in the supermercado!
Good to know…just in case we get desperate for Mexican food!
Dinner fixings! I’ll settle in for a few days, then challenge myself to making gnocchi from scratch.
Ready to cook in this kitchen.
Time for what we came for…riding and running! Addio, amici.
